More than two years have passed since iconic talk show host Rush Limbaugh used the term ‘slut’ to describe, with apparent accuracy, Georgetown Law School student Sandra Fluke. His comments came after the promiscuous thirty-something declared the government should be on the hook financially for her prophylactic needs.
Fast forward to 2014 and birth control is once again a topic of national debate following a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling. In a 5-4 decision along ideological lines, justices sided with retail chain Hobby Lobby’s contention that certain ObamaCare mandates unconstitutionally violate the religious beliefs of the company’s Christian owners.
In discussing the ruling, Limbaugh noted during a recent broadcast that the healthcare law requires employers to provide contraceptives but does not mandate other, arguably more important, medical needs.
“Which is worse, to go blind from lack of regular eye exams or to get pregnant?”
The notably left-leaning Huffington Post responded with an article describing his position as “gross,” while other advocates for employer-funded birth control took the vitriol to Twitter.
This. RT @joshtpm: Am always intrigued when Rush Limbaugh, married like 20 times & childless, says how birth control is just for hos.

Another ostensibly tolerant leftist described the host as a “disgusting excuse [for] a human being.”
