On his way to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., this week, Barack Obama apparently felt the last-minute need to visit a D.C. ball field. Along with the requisite motorcade, he decided to join in on a Little League game.
Judging from the photographic evidence, his skills on the mound are best suited for such a venue.

Worse than his throwing arm, apparently, was his sense of timing. As press pool reporter Lesley Clark observed:
“Trip to the ball fields was uneventful, but for commuters backed up along DC streets and the Key Bridge.”
While Obama declared Monday was “a great day for baseball,” it was not such a pleasant experience for those attempting to navigate traffic in the nation’s capital.
