RNC Moves to Increase Conservative Influence in Primaries

The presence of a leftist media bias is so obvious that, as I reported last December, even those who perpetuate the problem are now admitting its existence. For that reason, it is disconcerting for conservative Republicans when these ideologues — including former Democrat operative George Stephanopoulos — are slated to moderate GOP debates.

Whether intentional or not, many assert that these hosts effectively steer the conversation through pointed questions that reveal their own disdain for those who occupy the right wing of the political spectrum.

The Republican National Committee is vowing to fight this trend, however, by introducing a new rule that would make sure conservative journalists are picked to moderate Republican primary debates. As RNC Deputy Press Secretary Raffi Williams explained:

“The plan is to have conservative journalists on the debate panel so that conservative activists will have a voice in determining who comes out of the Republican primary”

Not only will the newly selected RNC subcommittee be responsible for selecting the venue and establishing the rules for these upcoming events, it will have the authority to penalize candidates who choose to participate in unsanctioned debates.
